Unique single-piece casting for the Double Column & Cross Rail design made from the finest high grade FC-300 Grey cast iron material provides a State-of-the-Art and unusually rugged bridge frame. Extensive use of Computer Aided Design for ribbing size, shape, and positioning helps absorb the tremendous motion and mass dynamics encountered in high speed machining, provides extensive vibration dampening and thermal stability, and creates extreme rigidity. Overall weight exceeds 24,000 lbs.
The 1300X850mm (approx 51x33.5") worktable has been overly engineered cast and then machined to provide a Rock-Solid platform with high loading capabilities. The top table surface is precision scraped for flatness, parallelism and perpendicularity to the X and Z axis.
Oversized high precision linear guideways are utilized to provide low starting inertia, low friction and high acceleration rates optimizing servo drive response for excellent axis positioning and repeatability over the full stroke on the X, Y, and Z Axes.
A.C digital servo drive motors are Direct Coupled (no drive belts) to the axis ball screws maximizing positioning speed while maintaining locating accuracy and eliminating transmission errors.
A safety torque coupling on each axis protects the ballscrew and servo drive motor.
This entire powerful machine tool frame assembly is fully guarded by a modern designed sheet metal enclosure to protect the operator, keep the shop clean of chips and coolant, and optimize conformance to environmental concerns.
Spindle Speeds range from 200 to 24,000 RPM. |
