| Polyurethane was synthesized and developed in Germany about 40 years ago. The technology of the manufacturing of flexible polyurethane foam is quite complicated, but it has been simplified as a result of improvements made by some experts in the past years. Aside from water, polyol, and isocyanate, which react to form the basic polymer, some other ingredients must also be added to ensure the quality of the foamed products. The added ingredients include amine catalyst, metallo-organic catalysits, the auxiliary blowing agent, fillers, flame retardents, dyes and stabilizers. Today, polyurethane(PU) based plastics hold a predominant position in the plastic market. They are widely used in daily life. Shoulder pads, suitcases, luggage, handbags, footware, furniture, mattresses, cushion mats, filters, sound insulation, brassiere pads, paint brushes and upholstery are all made from PU foam plastics. In packing, PU foam products are used to pack ornaments, jewelries, fruits, machines and electric parts. |
